Examples of customer solutions :
Goods tracking along the supply chain
A transparent flow of goods is the basis of an efficient supply
chain. The introduction of RFID reduced essentially the costs of identification.
At critical points such as goods issue, transit points, goods receipt
etc. the goods provided with transponders are read automatically and
contact-free. Important information is saved on the transponder and along
the supply chain updated with current data. RFID allows a close retraceability
of goods.
Controlling of the production logistic
Each object, which is equipped with a RFID tag, carries the data
directly with itself.
The tags allow to identifying and controlling particular
work processes. Thus, it is possible to determine at which work step the
product stands. The product can be individualised by processing it order
related along the production line. Furthermore, an automatic sorting, for
example in a warehouse, is possible.
Management of reusable containers
An optimised reusable container management reduces loop ways in
the logistic and increases the transparency of the container movement.
Information makes it easier to schedule transportation, circulation
and holding time, retention period at the customer or supplier respectively,
and monitoring of temperature. Warehouse stocks are optimised, warehouse
charges are reduced. The cumbersome and time intensive search for the
right respectively missing container is omitted, as the containers are
easy to trace due to the ID. Production downtimes due to missing transport
containers for the supply or the remove of goods can be minimised.
Identification and management of vehicles
At the entrance the trucks are weighed on a weighbridge
and at the same time identified through their transponder. Therefore,
the scheduler knows the customer and a personalised order form appears
on his monitor. The scheduler connects online the orders and sends the
driver to the appropriate load station. There, the truck will be identified
again and automatically loaded with the ordered goods in quantity and
quality. Before the truck leaves the premises, it is directed again to
the weighbridge, identified and weighted. The system calculated the net
weight of the cargo. The customer invoice is carried out immediately – solely
electronically. The use of RFID has optimised the scheduling and utilization
of the truck fleet.
